{"id":3743,"date":"2022-10-25T15:42:37","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T14:42:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yvium.es\/2022\/10\/25\/talks-on-the-traditions-of-san-froilan\/"},"modified":"2022-11-08T10:15:54","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T09:15:54","slug":"talks-on-the-traditions-of-san-froilan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yvium.es\/en\/2022\/10\/25\/talks-on-the-traditions-of-san-froilan\/","title":{"rendered":"Talks on the traditions of San Froil\u00e1n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, October 6th at 20:30 hours, in the Yvium Space of the Proconsi Foundation, was held the <strong>\u201cTalks on the traditions of San Froil\u00e1n\u201d, <\/strong>with the participation of <strong>Hermenegildo L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, Abad de la Cofrad\u00eda del Milagroso Pend\u00f3n de San Isidoro, <strong>Gonzalo Gonz\u00e1lez-Cay\u00f3n<\/strong>, Teniente de Primicerio de la Imperial Orden del Pend\u00f3n de San Isidoro, y <strong>Alejandro Valderas,<\/strong> historian.<\/p><p>The <strong>Pendones Leoneses<\/strong> are a kind of flags or ensigns representative of different localities in our region and which in some cases are several decades old. They are made up of a mast or pole that can measure up to 14 metres, attached at one end to the belt of the pendonero, as the person who carries it is called. <\/p><p>Also very typical of the San Froil\u00e1n festivities are the <strong>Carros Engalanados<\/strong>, which leave from the Carretera de los Cubos and end their route in the emblematic Plaza del grano. In addition to the parade itself, there is a competition in which around 50 decorated wagons are judged.
